Professor Joaquin Baca is the Director of Training at Boss High Level Protection. He brings over twenty years of Arrest Control, Defensive Tactics and Martial Arts instructor experience to the team.
Professor Baca earned his B.A. in Kinesiology, from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While attending college he was employed as a certified personal trainer and earned certification as a level 1 CrossFit trainer.
Professor Baca began his martial arts training while in college and earned a black belt in Kung Fu San Soo under master Brynn Stephens and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, under Professor J.J. Pugsley.Professor Baca currently coordinates the Jiu-Jitsu program for the UFC Gyms of Colorado.
Professor Baca has, successfully, competed in several gi and no-gi grappling tournaments and amateur MMA bouts and also trains several amateur and professional MMA fighters.
Professor Baca was employed as a police Agent for the city of Lakewood CO from 1996 to 2013. During this time he was a member of the S.W.A.T. tactical team, the traffic team, and was a patrol officer.
Professor Baca is a CO. P.O.S.T. certified instructor and has been an arrest control instructor since 1998. He has instructed police recruits and sworn personnel in all areas of arrest control, ground fighting, baton techniques, and defensive tactics. In addition to being a certified LPD arrest control instructor Professor Baca is also a certified FBI defensive tactics instructor, and a former member of the CO. P.O.S.T. arrest control subject matter expert committee. Professor Baca created the only Law Enforcement Ground Fighting Instructor course that is approved for CO P.O.S.T. credit.
